Wednesday loves...

What I'm loving Wednesday linking up here!

This edition is dedicated to Lynchburg... our home for the last 6 years.

- ONE-

Brentwood church.  We have been so thankful for the people we have meet through this church and the truth that has been taught to us.  It is at this church that we learned what it felt like to be taught instead of preached at.  We also learned about Freedom424 and the ministry they have freeing those enslaved in the sex trades in Thailand.  I am thankful for having the chance to get involved with them! We also learned how to do life with our community group.  I am so thankful for this group of people, and will really miss them alot, especially Wednesday nights.  Hopefully we will stay caught up via skype! 

-TWO-

Liberty University.  The reason why Jason and i both ended up in Lynchburg.  Although no university, or town for that matter is perfect, I am especially thankful for coming to Lynchburg while Jerry Sr. was still alive.  That man was the definition of living a life for Christ, holding nothing back and giving Him all the Glory and praise.  It was an honor to hear him at church and every Wednesday on campus. I am thankful that for different reasons God had a plan to bring Jason and I both to Liberty.   I also met some of my greatest friends at Liberty- shout out to Ashley, and my nursing girls! 

-THREE-

Some great years coaching cheerleading.  I am thankful for the years that I have had to get to know so many great girls and watch them grow into the women that God created them to be.  It was such a great time to see them push themselves to achieve something that was unreached for so many years.  Although they might not have always loved the pushing from their dear coaches, it was such a reward to see their hard work finally pay off.  I have learned so much about how to love these girls, and one day parent my own.  I am thankful for the examples, good and bad that I have seen because they have all impacted my life- in different ways of course : ).  This year I am proud of the girls that have stayed true to themselves, and continued to push themselves.  Shout out to Amy... I miss our afternoons together! 

-FOUR-

Some awesome places to eat! Our favorites include: Neighbors Place, Geralds, Montana Plains, La Villa, Macados, Lacaretta, Joe Beans coffee (esp. the pumpkin spice, and frosty's favorite), and of course the Texas Inn.  There are many others but these are all I can think of right now! I also found my love for eating with local restaurants- not chains.  

-FIVE-

Our little apartment, and our life for the past year and a half.  We have struggled and I am thankful for that.  Without knowing how to struggle, we would not know how to be thankful for what we will have in the future.  We have also learned how to make it on little, so that when we have more we will know how to save! Also, we have already started a list of what we are going to be thankful for this includes: no elephants upstairs, a backyard for tucker, a garage- or even better not having to fight for parking, no crazy loud small children outside my window, and last but not least a washer & dryer! Praise God hallelujah! 


I know that I am forgetting things for this post, and I am sure I will be missing things I never thought I would so stay tuned for more loves of Lynchburg.

Mom and Dad will get here tomorrow, graduation is Friday and we are planning to leave VERY early Saturday morning.

It's official.... I turned in my two finals today and I am done with my classes! Now to wait for final grades.

  Graduation is ONE WEEK from today!

For the next week we will be packing and waiting for my parents to arrive.  Jason has 2 research papers and a few other assignments due before next Friday.  Good things are happening around here!

 God is good!

Wednesday with the Dews

Wednesday 

Not much new around here.  We are busy packing, working on school work and trying to get everything done in the next 9 days.  This past weekend we got to go to Richmond one last time to see Jason's parents.  We had a great visit! I know it was a little bittersweet for Jason, but I keep reminding him that we will be just a plane ride away.  I know Jason is hoping his dad will come to Texas for the TCU vs Virginia game this fall.  It will be fun to get to show them all around when they come to visit.  

Now on to What I'm Loving Wednesday.

- ONE- 

I am LOVING that classes are over, and my finals are pretty much done. I worked really hard to get them done early because I knew this week would be needed for packing.  Ready to be done.... for a little while : ) 

-TWO-

I am LOVING that we have Christmas with the community group tonight.  Again I think it will be a great time but also bittersweet.  I wont have to say goodbye to the girls tonight because we have plans on Friday! (I really hate goodbyes!) 

-THREE-

I am LOVING that Jason is done working 2 jobs.  I know that we have both done what we had to do during the last few years, but I am glad that he is done needing to work 2 jobs.  Have I mentioned how blessed we are? Thinking about it- seriously the Lord has provided for us not only in the last year or so, but also for our future.  We have both been blessed with job opportunities, a home, churches here and there, parents who support us and friends that love the Lord.  What more could we ask for? 

I haven't really had time to be on pinterest, therefore this post is a little sad.  Stay tuned maybe after Christmas for more exciting posts.  I'm not sure when our internet will be connected at the new house.  Hang with me for a little while.  Hopefully I will have time to post one more time before the move.

Update and WILW

I hope that everyone had a very restful thanksgiving with family.  We definitely have much to be thankful for! There is alot to update on and I will just add my update to my traditional wednesday post!

I am loving that we made it to Texas!

Getting to Texas... traveling is always so unpredictable and we both know that, but getting to Texas was very interesting.  We got dropped off at the airport around 9:15 Tuesday morning by one of my greatest friends in Lynchburg (love you Rachel) only to find out that there was 0 visibility and they were not allowing any planes to land in Roanoke.  The plane we were supposed to be on got diverted to Greensboro, NC and they were not expecting any flights to go out that day because of the fog. The next thing we know, I have talked to the Delta reps on the phone 3 times, and we are on a bus on our way to Greensboro (a 2 hour ish drive).  We got there and boarded a plane for Atlanta (delayed again), and realized that we were going to have very little time once we landed to make our flight to DFW.  We had approximately 6 minutes to get down about 20 gates.... No we didn't make fools out of ourselves by running through the airport. : ) We made it just as they were about to close the door!  Knowing that we only had 6 minutes to get to the plane we knew that there was no way that our bag was making, however there was a flight after that leaving Atlanta at 10 and arriving in DFW at 12:30.  I confirmed that our bag would be on this flight only to be told that they stop their delivery of bags at 12:00, therefore they would delivery it in the morning, or we could come back to get it.  This wouldn't be a problem, but Jason had an interview the next morning- so we had to have our bag! After getting back to the airport (a 30 min. drive)  we finally made it back to my grandparents around 2:00 am.  All was good, and we were happy until, we got to the gate and the security guard wouldn't let us through because the last name McPherson was on the list (not dew) and the man wouldn't take my word for it that I am a McPherson lol.  We then got to wake up the whole house in order for my grandparents to verify that I was okay to come in.  LONG DAY!!!!  It's funny to look back on, but we made it!!! 

-TWO-

Wednesday in Texas... 

Jason had an interview with a company, and he feels like everything went very well.  We are still praying about the opportunity, and want to make sure that Jase is exactly where the Lord wants him! After that we met our realtor and looked at 13 possible houses- some were really great, and others REALLY bad (including a really horrible cat urine smell)  We did submit an application on one house, and found out today that we got it!!!  I am LOVING that we got everything done that needed to get done, and that my parents were there to help me see the good and bad in each house.  Wednesday was concluded with Joe T Garcias, perhaps one of the greatest Mexican food places in the metroplex.  

-THREE-

We had a great Thanksgiving day with 15 family members, many that we haven't seen since our wedding.  We had more than enough food, conversation and laughter.  I know Jason was glad to have 10 other men to sit and watch football with all afternoon.  It was fun to see him interact with them, I am so glad that he fits right in! We all went to the movies, Tradition on Thanksgiving day in my family, and we have confirmed that my grandmother should never be allowed to pick the movie again! We definitely had a good time though! 

-FOUR-

I am LOVING that my parents let us play a little after all that had to be done at the beginning of our trip.  My grandparents left for a trip Friday night just as the four of us were leaving for dinner at the Fort Worth club, and the Bass Hall to see the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in their Home for the Holidays production.  It was fun to hear traditional Christmas music, and start the season! 

Saturday we went to the Texas Tech vs. Baylor game at the Cowboys stadium.  Can i just say WOW! We were about 18 rows from the field, and had a great time.  Tech didn't play so well, but it was fun to see how far Baylor has come since I was at school there.  I will make no comment about the game lol. 

-FIVE-

Our trip home was flawless (praise the Lord).  We got home around 4, and Rachel and I sat and worked on a quiz for 2 hours before she had to go to a meeting.  During her 2.5 hour meeting Jason and I threw together the trifold board for my group project that was due Tuesday morning.  Rachel came back and we worked for another 1.5 on the quiz, and Jason and I finally finished my project around midnight.  Nothing like being thrown right back in to life.  I am happy to say, and LOVING the fact that I am now COMPLETELY DONE with CLASSES (as of yesterday) and GROUP PROJECTS.   Can I get an amen?! The end is in sight!

Finally I am LOVING the updated countdown:

Graduation: 16 days (2 finals)

Moving day: 17 days

Christmas: 25 days

I am loving that in less than a week we will be in Texas with my family! Although Jason and I have a  lot to accomplish during our visit, we are looking forward to seeing everyone, and playing!  If you missed the post about what we have planned during our trip you can see it HERE...

I am LOVING that I only have ONE day of undergrad classes left.... EVER... other than that I have one project, 2 finals and a mock NCLEX to get done before the 9th of December.

I am loving some of our sweet friends that we haven't seen in a while.... Hopefully soon!!!

Although I wasn't fond of the gingerbread latte at Starbucks, I tried the Caramel Brulee Latte and it was pretty good.

I am LOVING that we are having Thanksgiving with our community group tonight.  Those people have been so great to us while we have been in Lynchburg.  Thankful for the time we have had with them and we will miss them terribly when we move! It makes me sad to think about... so I'm not going to until I have to.

Who ever came up with the idea for doing 1/2 sticks of butter is a GENIUS! I seriously cannot stand to put a half used stick of butter back in the refrigerator, so when I brought these home I was thrilled! I had never heard of such a thing! Brilliant!

I LOVE when my mom sends me things... just because she knows I'm having a hard week, or just because she loves me! Thanks mom.... LOVE YOU

Next week we leave to go to Texas for Thanksgiving... I am excited to get there and get things done! Jason and I have an agenda- FINDING A HOUSE- and many other things that need to be done before we move... I am nervous, excited and thankful this week.  The feelings seem to change daily : )

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

It's Wednesday which means I'm linking up here for WILW!

-ONE-

I am loving that I am finally done with clinicals.... FOREVER! it is really hard to believe, but I am thankful for the experience and I'm looking forward to actually getting paid to be there now lol. I am looking forward to the uniform burning that is to come the week of graduation! 

-TWO-

I am loving Jason Dew! He is too good to me, and I am thankful that I get to have him as my husband. Although we have only been married for about a year and  4 months I cannot imagine my life without him.  He encourages me daily to be the woman that God created me to be, pushes me to be my best, loves me through my weaknesses and struggles and celebrates my accomplishments. Life is crazy- especially now that there are so many changes going on, but I am thankful for Jason's strength and leadership in our family.  I am excited for the journey that we are on, and I'm looking forward to the future! Love you Jase!

Monday...

Monday- again... a new week with a new To-Do list....

- ONE-

I finished my last weekend of clinicals this weekend!!! over 850 hours of my life spent doing clinicals.... I am glad to be done!!! Oh and I am SO glad I never have to wear that dang uniform again! Can't wait till the uniform burning!!! 

-TWO-

Jason and I spent the day yesterday packing... it is funny that such a dreadful task can be such a good day when it's spent with your husband.  Jason and I don't get very many full days together so we really appreciate them when we have them! We laughed a lot yesterday and I realized how well we really work as a team! I love that man!!!  

We don't have a lot more going on than packing and school work right now.  Our lives are pretty consumed with both! I will be glad to be done with all of the work- my last assignment is due the 9th of December! Jason's semester goes until the day I graduate- the 16th! Until then not a whole lot of excitement around here!
